You can find even more pictures of our fabulous re-launch here!
We are still riding the wave of good feelings and energy everyone brought to California Power & Light’s Re-Launch: Grounded & Growing event this past Sunday, December 8th in San Francisco.
The Historic Klamath Ferryboat was filled for our first-ever fundraising event with donors, board members, partners, and supporters. The room was buzzing with joyful mingling and people sharing stories and memories of partnering together to advance climate justice. (Scroll to the bottom to see more event photos). Our organization has a rich history, and now as an independent non-profit, California Interfaith Power & Light has a bright future and important call to advance climate action in the Golden State.
We were honored that State Senator Josh Becker was with us to celebrate, to brief us on upcoming legislation and strategies for Sacramento, and to moderate the conversation with our inspiring Member Congregations represented by:
- Jackie Badejo of Watts-Willowbrook Church of Christ in Compton
- Shawn Rosenmoss of Sha’ar Zahav Congregation in SF
- Rev. Dr. Myoung-Ho Sin of Berkeley Presbyterian Mission Homes
It was also special for us to pay tribute to three very deserving Climate Champions:
- The Rev. Sally Bingham
- Mark Carlson
- Rev. Dr. Ambrose Carroll
As we move forward into 2025 and a very different environment in Washington DC, we ask you to stay engaged with us to step up climate leadership in California.
Together we will do what is needed to inspire and mobilize individuals and communities of faith and conscience to lead in this moment of climate urgency.
In service and gratitude,
Rabbi Marvin Goodman & Susan Stephenson
