"Ensuring Justice and Equity in Electric Vehicles"
The recent UN IPCC report notes the urgency of reducing planet warming emissions. Transportation, from gas and diesel fueled cars, trucks and buses in the United States is not only the main source of greenhouse gas emissions, but also a major source of air pollution. Transitioning towards electric vehicles will not only address the climate crisis, but reduce air pollution.
This webinar will address the latest technology of electric vehicles; the types of just policies that we should be advocating for Congress to pass; concerns around the extracted minerals for batteries; toxic waste and recyclability; and, most importantly, how can we ensure that EV's are affordable for everyone.
Sponsored by our friends at the Office of Economic and Environmental Justice of United Methodist Women.
Wednesday, October 20, 12:00pm - 1:30pm Pacific time.
