CIPL is a hot-bed of events, putting our congregations in touch with the latest information they need about energy efficiency, congregational solidarity and sustainable energies. CIPL hosts an eclectic mixture of events, as well as provides  links to external worthwhile events.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

2010 Energy Oscars, Tuesday November 9, 6pm – 9pm, Grace Cathedral San Francisco: Our 4th Annual Energy Oscars will highlight awards for exemplary congregations in the categories of Green Building, Education, Advocacy and Energy Efficiency and Conservation. And, for the first time, 2010’s awards will highlight an outstanding congregational youth group that is active in the issues of energy and climate change. A fun time is always had by all – a formal invite will be coming out soon.

There will be events scheduled all over the state and we will keep you informed. In the meantime, fill out a form to assist with the No on Prop 23 campaign in your own congregation.

PAST EVENTS:

Juneteenth Celebration; Grace Tabernacle Church, Bayview-Hunters Point, June 19, 2010: Fast becoming a growing annual celebration, especially in the African-American community, Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery. And this year, CIPL helped to coordinate a multi-sector accomplishment marked by the installation of a solar panel system on Grace Tabernacle. It was a true community party, shared by faith, labor, and local green jobs organizations. Click here for a write-up and to see inspiring photos from the event.

Renewal L.A., St. John’s Episcopal Church, April 25, 2010: An evening of interfaith solidarity  was marked by an interfaith prayer; advanced action against Prop 23; and excerpts from the moving documentary Renewal, which highlights stories from major faith communities and their actions in terms of preserving Creation.
